Hi Marco,

I've never done boards for the 909 or 808, but Trevor Page has - I see from
his Yahoo group you found him.

One of these days I might get round to doing an 808 kit, but time is in
short supply these days...

A fully digital mixer, or an analogue mixer with digital I/O ?
Given the price of something like this...
http://www.behringer.com/ADA8000/index.cfm?lang=ENG
...it'd be a hard job to do anything cheaper the DIY route.

Me neither. I took computing at university, and taught myself electronics
later.
For the foreseeable future, my time will be occupied with sequencer stuff.
I don't know if there are any forums or mailing lists for mixer DIY, but you
could ask over at Synth-DIY - you might find interested people there.

Hmm, not quite the link I meant...

Bbut the ADA8000 would be great as digital I/O for an analogue front end.

yeah, i just found on ebay the board from trevor.

thnx.

bu i got a question and maybe a challange for u.
i'm intrested in building a homemade mixer with adat.
i would like to invite u because i'm no engeneer.
io did electronic as main direction on school, but never work in that industry.

i have found some info and made a schematic, i'm not sure if it's good.

the company that produces adat chip, i have found.
http://www.wavefrontsemi.com/
i have read all their pgf files

i can solder, measure(litle) and stuf, but i sure don't have experianc on digital stuf.
i have a smal purse, but i would offer money if u could find a way to produce a adat i/o to build in a schematic for a mixer.

kind regards,

i don't want a fulll mixer, i just want to create like shown on the picture i mailed u.
a adat I/O with 8 analog I/O.
just a working schema.
i could fit in myself to anything i want i gues.

if i would buy a digital mixer, i would a yamaha o1v o 02r.

but i would to figure out stuf like.
i think it shouldn't be that dificult, that what i drawed.
i just toke to midi part for the schema of trevor 9090 thing.
because the adat ship needs midi anmd word clock.

Well, I use mine in the opposite direction, but I will
wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. It sounds great, it
syncs up to just about anything for digiclock, and it is half
the cost of an Alesis AI-3 and maybe 1/3 the cost of the
Presonus 8 channel thingies. In my setup (feeding the ADAT
inputs of an Akai DPS24) I really can't recommend it highly
enough.
