Electrolytic V value and CGS06 output querry

Electrolytic V value and CGS06 output querry

2004-10-24 by ilanode

Hi list, I'm peeping here for a while and this is my first posting.
I've no EE or whatsoever background so my querry might be dumb. I'm
shopping for parts and wonder if I could replace the VOLT value of
electrolytic caps by any other value as long as it is higher than
the PSU used puts out: Can I use 47uF 16V instead of 47uF 25 V (for
the Burst Gen.)?
On the pcb of Burst Gen there is a pad CLK O is that a clock output?
Since there is no clock out mentioned in the description nor visible
on the faceplate I'm at a loss. Any help would be higly appreciated!
Thanks, Ilanode

hi

the Clk O connects to the 'switch' on the clock-in jack.
if nothing is plugged into this jack, you can set the burst gen up
with the speed pot and range switch. once you plug in, this part of
the circuit is disconnected.

if running 15v, i'd feel uncomfortable using a 16v electro for
decoupling. it is okay to go bigger than 25V. 10uF 35V or 50V would
be fine.

hope it all goes well

Hi Anddrew, *many thanks*! Well, my learning curve on electronics
isn't steep. Actually I'm progressing slowly. An Analog Logic is
done and the Burst Gen will be done. Regards, Ilanode
