damaged pad .....does it matter???

damaged pad .....does it matter???

2005-08-09 by mesonproductions

doing some desoldering, I managed to damage a pad.......

its on the top board of the bandwidth filter stack, see diagram in
cgs30 module. looking at the diagram you will see a red wire running
from the top cgs30 pcb to the +ve on the dc mixer. where the wire
connects to the top filter board theres a white line running to the
right, I assume for a link, the damaged pad is the other point of this
link. specifically, the pads fully gone, just the plastic where it
should be.

does this matter, and if so, how does one repair it.

Just run a thin wire to the nearest good piece of track. As long as there is
electrical continuity, all will be fine. In this case you will need to join
to both pieces of track that used to be connected to the pad. Scape the
solder mask away with a razor, and use thin wire - perhaps 2 strands from a
multi-strand hookup wire twisted together.

Easy, just follow the track back to the previous pad and run a small link. Works for me.
