Spyder 3 Express crashes on XP with ATI VIDEO CARD ?

Spyder 3 Express crashes on XP with ATI VIDEO CARD ?

2010-01-05 by Kalle

Hi,

I have a serious problem on using Spyder 3 Express on XP with Ati Radeon 9600 video card.

The calibration process begins normally, but the program crashes totally when the third (blue) calibration screen appears. Sometimes it goes further but stops working every time and I have to close the program using task manager.

Yes, I have updated newest ATI radeon drivers and tried using ATI Catalyst 4.6 driver, but doesn't work. Also updated my monitor's driver.

Also downloaded the newest version, Spyder3Express 4.0 from datacolor site. But no effect.

So, what next? This problem apparently relates to ATI video card, but how to disable it when using Spyder 3 Express???

Thanks for your help!

You can start by being sure that no screensaver or screendimmer
functions are kicking in at that point. Next, check that all ATI
startup items or utilities are disabled. If you continue to have
issues after that, you'll want to start a support ticket with as much
info as possible at DataColor.com
