Do you know how soon (roughly) the new 2.2 Spyder2PRO will be released? I understand certainly this is not a hard and fast commit date. Just curious

>>Am relatively new to the forum and have learned much from you all. Do you know if the new update for Spyder2Pro is available for download? The ColorVision servers are in the process of being moved, so no new updates will appear there for a while. But Spyder2PRO v2.2 should be posted there as soon as the transfer is complete. C. I went to www.colorvision.com just a short while ago and downloaded SpyderPro2.2 setup and installed it. So it must be there now!!! After downloading it, I connected the SpyderPro2 to my laptop and rested the device on the screen and started the calibration process. It being a laptop I realized the settings would be handled in a different manner than my desktop with the CRT monitor. The laptop default is 6500 and Gamma 2.2. There are no settings to adjust for the brightness other than backlight so I made none and let the software do its thing and then saved the resultimg profile for the laptop. I rebooted and got a screen message that there was no monitor profile other than the default laptop setting from the factory. I searched and found the profiles for the monitor and I found the profile Spyder created, but I could not set the laptop to use it. I really would like to calibrate the laptop but am now at a loss. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to get the system to recognize the Spyder profile?? Your friend in Photography, Johnny Eades In colorvision_group@yahoogroups.com, CDTobie@... wrote:

Can anyone give me some pointers on how to get the system to recognize the Spyder profile?? My guess from this is that you are on Windows, and have one of those problem systems where calling Windows to set the profile as the OS monitor profile fails... (and Windows also fails to send back a notification when this happens...). If so, then use the Profile Chooser software that comes with Spyder2PRO to assign the profile as the monitor profile. If that doesn't do the trick, contact ColorVision support, and they will run you through all the possible tricks to get things running. C. David Tobie Product Technology Manager ColorVision, Inc. Hello CD, Your mentioning something rang a chord about monitor profiles in Windows and went to the display choice in control Panel and the settings tab and then chose color management which then allowd me to go to find the SpyderPRO created profile and then selected that one and as soon an ACR calibrator stops running I'll reboot and see if thngs go OK then. Thanks for the inspiration. Your friend in Photography ( and now color printing) Johnny Eades
