Upgrading DC1M4 to System 4.0 from 1.2

Upgrading DC1M4 to System 4.0 from 1.2

2011-01-24 by Steven Greenberger

I just ran through the steps in upgrade manual and everything seemed to go perfectly. Now when I try to update the PRC-100, I get an error message after pressing on Interface Updater.

It says the unit cannot connect to the I/O Center.

Has anyone else had this issue. I've tried resetting the PRC and the Piano. It is connected to the DKV wireless and I can run the piano through the calibration steps.

Is there a way to update the PRC without the I/O center? I was wondering if there is a way to do this with th SD card.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Here are the instructions posted by Phil on the yahoo group forum on how to download the 4.0 system for the Mark IV:

I downloaded the firmware via the PRC menu - Network update. Took about 5 mins to download with a 8Mb broadband connection.

It then asks you if you want to reboot now or later. I selected Reboot now.

After this, the PRC would not reconnect. So I had to manually push the power button on the piano to take it out of standby.

When the PRC reconnected, it said that I should update the PRC Interface from v3.0 to v4.0 - it did not do this automatically.

To do this I had to go into the main PRC-100 menu (using the icon in the bottom left of the screen) and select 'Interface Updater'

After a brief message saying it is 'Searching for update file...' there were the following 3 updates possible:

Application Current Version Next Version
Interface 3.0.0 4.0.0
PRC-100 Menu 1.1.0 1.1.1
Service Center 1.1.0 1.1.1

I selected all of them, and then pressed 'Install'

A message saying 'Downloading...' appeared on the PRC for about 30 seconds and then 'Updating...' for about 1-2 minutes.

A message then appeared saying 'Interface program updated successfully' - tapped

Thanks Joan. My PRC is not connected to the internet yet. I don't even have a Network Update option on my PRC unit.

I followed all the instructions and everything appeared to go okay, but when I got to the step for updating the PRC Interface, I get an error saying it can't connect to the I/O Center.

My I/O center has been updated to 4.0 and my PRC cannot connect. At least it is still a great piano.

You might try calling your piano dealer to see if they have a hard copy of the update on CD. Since you don't have your disklavier connected to the internet that explains why you are unable to update via the network connection.

Try getting the version 3.0 update disk from your dealer. Update the piano and the remote control to version 3.0 (don't forget the "Recall Demo Album" function after the PRC has been updated). When all this is working OK, then update to version 4.0.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
