Do you have the 50B as the only item in the SCSI chain and and the terminator on the J3 jumper set across the two top pins? Ie for the 50B to be set to SCSI ID

i would not call 100 quid cheap, for a solution to only 1 unit, you have 20+ samplers replacing all 20 with a hxc will cost you the same price as a second hand
