I'm sorry. My message was ambiguous.  I understand what you're saying.  
I'm not sure if I understand what Gareth was saying.

I understood Gareth to say that he was getting better performance with 
his PCMCIA cardbus interface than his 800 Fireface interface.  I'm 
trying to determine if the inferior firewire performance he is 
experiencing is caused by running his firewire interface on the same 
bus as his hard drives.....or if PCMCIA is just better in his 
experience?
