I'm tired of waiting for an OS X version of Recycle. Anybody have any experience creating EXS24 instruments from Phatmatic "slices"? Is their any kind of interaction between EXS 24 and Phatmatic files like there is between EXS 24 and rx2 files? Thanks -- Charles

I think you will find a lot of very happy pHATmatik Pro users here (myself included). It is a stand alone VST instrument. There is no reason/need to import the slices into EXS. I suppose if you wanted to grab a couple of single hits for future mapping/uses, you could. But pHATmatik works fine on it's own for slicing and playing back loops. It has it's own filters and LFO mappings and matrix modulation settings, etc. -- Eli Krantzberg Nightshift Orchestra / Almat Productions http://www.nightshiftorchestra.com

Sort of. You load the loop right into pHATmatik. And then generate the midi file right from within pHATmatik and drag it into the arrange window on the pHATmatik track. It then plays back from the pHATmatik instrument track. And you can also trigger the individual slices from your midi keyboard controller. >>Did I understand correctly from previous posts that pHat does not work well if >>you\ufffdre slowing down the tempo of the sequence and this is where Recycle is a >>better product (at least in that regard)? I haven't used Recycle, but yes; pHATmatik doesn't always yield great results at slowing tempos down. It doesn't seem to do the individual slice stretching/crossfading thing that Recycle does. It's a tradeoff I guess between functionality and convenience. -- Eli Krantzberg Nightshift Orchestra / Almat Productions http://www.nightshiftorchestra.com
