Never actually tried it, but I've wondered if it'd be possible to use
Touch Tracks to do this? For note messages at least.

The sequence used by Touch Tracks would contain a single note. The
velocity'd probably need to be 64, and the note length'd need to be as
long as the longest note you were planning to play.

In the Touch Tracks window you'd transpose each note appropriately, set
"Velocity" to 100%, "Trigger" to Gate, and "Start" to Next 1/16. Or
something like that.

Hey, if it works please let us know. I've been meaning to try it for
ages. If it doesn't, sorry to waste your time.

Yes, possible. In Arrange make sure you have *no* sequences
selected. Then in the parameter pane (left side of window) turn on
the Quantize parameter (the same one you would use on a sequence).
Now play/record whatever and everything will be quantized on input.
Don't forget to switch this back off -- can be a nasty one when it
happens while you don't want and/or expect it.

Hi again Hendrik Jan-
I have used that trick before but afaik, it quantizes on playback. I
think the original poster wants the note to be rounded to the nearest
beat as they play in realtime.

Ah... I think you're right indeed. This trick quantises the
*recording* and not the playing. Sorry for the foul-up.
