A rel life story; excellent service from CDxtract

A rel life story; excellent service from CDxtract

Hi all

Just wanted to extend my fullhearted recommendation of the program
CDxtract and it's creator, Bernard. The story is:

I was looking for a program that could convert my exs24 programfiles
to .akp-files, to use them in my AKAI S5000 sampler. Some web-
research showed me that CDxtract was probably the answer, so I dl'ed
the demo. Unfortunately, one of the demo limitations was that it
didn't do this exact conversion, but since this was the only thing I
really needed the program for, I felt a bit uncomfortable spending 139
$ without knowing for certain that it would fulfill my demands
satisfactorily. So I emailed Bernard asking how he could convince me,
and half joking I suggested that I emailed him some exs-files for him
to convert, so I could evaluate the results that way. To my surprise
he agreed to do this, so I send him 10 exs program files, and two
days later I received 10 .akp-files, zipped up together with
corresponding empty wavefiles he had created for me to substitute for
the wavefiles I didn't send to him (it was after all 89 mb), but
which were needed for the .exs-files as well as the .akp-files.
Having tried them out now, I ordered the program some days ago, and
have just received it.

I have to say, that I find this service level outstanding! I can
hardly think of any other company that would actually do any work for
you in order to convince you that the program is right for you.
Imagine it; "Hello TC, I may want to buy the powercore but don't know
if it's right for me. If I send you a wavefile, would you add some
reverb to it so I can hear for myself?"; "Emagic, I'd like to know
just how precise logics track automation is. Could you make some
volume fades in this wavefile to my specifications?"; a.s.o. What
would the answer be? - most likely something like "read our brochure,
and if you like the look of it, buy it". I think Bernard needs to be
recommended for walking that extra mile even for just a potential
costumer.

And no, I'm not related to Bernard in any way, nor did I receive any
discounts or other benefits from him for writing this. I just believe
this is worth speaking of to anybody who might be interested, making
this effort to provide good service pay off somehow. Bernard, thank
you very much - you deserve it!

I'll second that.
I've found Bernard to be be extremely receptive and willing to even
add new features at the request of users.
CDXtract is a superb program (I use it for Roland S760 to EXS24
conversion) and I recommend it without reserve.
