I am having trouble with the Program/bank/Tuner peddle on my Control One Foot Controller..
Does anyone know if it is possible to Manually change banks on the GSP 2101 ?
I've never had this problem before so I'm kind of at a loss. Thanks for any input.

Not sure if this reply gets through but here goes anyway.. So you can change banks by pressing the bank button twice, then select the bank you want, so if you want bank 2, tap on that button. Also, I found a way (it's in the documentation) to change the functions of each button including using the bank and bypass buttons as a bank up and down if you want to do that.

If your Bank Up or Bank Down foot switches have failed on your Control One, you can configure any of the other Control One foot switches to perform Bank Up or Bank Down operations. For example, you can configure foot switch 0 to perform a "Bank Up" and foot switch 5 to perform a "Bank Down". Using this approach, you lose the capability of selecting a couple of programs in each bank (such as programs 5, 10, 15, 20, etc.) but perhaps you can rearrange your user programs so you don't need to select a couple of programs in each bank from your Control One. I think you'll need the version 3.00.00 chip-set to reassign Control One foot switches to Bank Up and Bank Down. I haven't been able to reassign foot switches on our GSP-2101s with earlier chip-sets. Here's the scheme for the version 3.00.00 chip-set. it's described on page 76 of the GSP-2101 Artist Owner's Manual. 1. Press the [Utility] button 2. Press Function key [2] --> Foot Controller 3. Press the Function key [1] --> Patch Assignment 4. Use Function key [2] to select which foot switch you want to reassign. For example, select foot switch 5. 5. Use Function key [3] to select the functionality of foot switch 5. You might have to scroll through a bunch of options before you reach "Bank Down". You'll perform a similar series of menu selections for reassigning foot switch 0 to "Bank Up". Please let us all know if this solution works for you. Hope it helps. Graham

As a follow-up to my previous message, you'll have to perform the foot switch reassignment steps for each of the banks. In other words, you have to reassign 2 foot switches in each of the banks 1 through 10 for the Bank Up and Bank Down switches to work for every bank. For chip-sets prior to version 3.00.00, there's no way of reassigning foot switches 1 through 0 to perform "Bank Up" or "Bank Down" operations by using the GSP-2101 front panel buttons. However, MIDIWizard can do this, even for chip-sets earlier than 3.00.00.

If your controller is failing then this wont help much- but I can tell you that you can get new switches and either find a music repair place or replace them yourself- its pretty easy actually. If it is working, then here is how I set mine up, just to give you an idea. So the way I configured mine (which has its drawbacks but is working ok) is that I assigned the bank as bank up and the bypass as bank down. In all banks, sw 0 is a clean dry, and with no volume I get no noise. Sw 9 brings up the tuner. Sw 2-5 are gradual increases in gain such that: bank 1 is clean, sw1 & 2 are for acoustic guitar, sw 3 & 4 are electric guitar with different gain stages for a clean sound. bank 2 saturation- Sw1 low sat, sw 5 highest sat bank 3 overdrive sw1 low -sw5 high and so on: bank 4 heavy sustain bank 6 grunge. bank 7 - 9 have my favorite factory settings. In banks 1 - 6, sw 6, 7,8 are detune/chorus/flanger. (I would add delay but there isn't enough memory so I use a reverb/delay processor in the effects loop) *I do have the 3.00 upgrade along with the higher clock. Thanks for the info Ken. I have a friend who is going to replace that switch for me. I bought like 15 of them back when Digitech still supported the unit. But this is good to know. Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me. ---- "Ken Rowe bardkin@... Thanks for the offer. But UI own 3 of them all in excellent condition. It's just the 'Bank'Tuner', peddle on my Foot controller that is giving me trouble. And now I have a friend who is going to replace the switch for me. So that fix it. I was actually just to find out if it was possible to manually change banks if this problem happened to me while in performance. ---- "Filip Wyrwa goddardfil@...
