I have just purchased this unit and like it a lot however I can not figure out how to program the traditional wah. I figured how to add it to the algorithm by reading the manual but I did not see how to add the expression pedal to it. Can someone help me with this please. Currently I am using a crybaby wah then going to the effect processor. I would like to use the 2101 for all its worth if the wah sounds good.

The wah sucks, but anyway... You must tell what is the version of your 2101 so that we can help you. It is displayed when you turn the unit on. -----Mensagem original----- De: jeffrankin101 [mailto:jeffrankin101@...] Enviada: segunda-feira, 3 de Janeiro de 2005 18:22 Para: gsp-2101@yahoogroups.com Assunto: [gsp-2101] Programming the WAH with the Control One I have just purchased this unit and like it a lot however I can not figure out how to program the traditional wah. I agree, it's super lame, I doubt you'll ditch your Cry Baby. Is your C1 expression pedal calibrated?? I believe it's through the utility button you'll find the calibration. I have the 3.0.0 upgrade. The pedal I did calibrate. That was weird because when I go all the way back it doesn't go to 0 it stops at 2 and when pushed forward instead of going to 127 it goes to 122. I guess that might be something with the pedal. If there is a way to make it read 0 that would be cool and 127. I thought that was what the calibration was to do was to reset all to the right parameters. Anyways to make a long story short I did calibarate it. Thanks for you guys wanting to help out :-) I was getting very frustrated. Jeff krazydog@... wrote: I agree, it's super lame, I doubt you'll ditch your Cry Baby. In order to read "0" when pedal down and "127" when the pedal is up, you must use a little trick: when calibrating the pedal, don't push/pull the pedal all the way, but leave just a little space in both positions. This trick is especially necessary if you want wah to sound like "normal wah". To simulate the knee that "normal wah" have you should minimize the path from closed to opened pedal. Note that short path of the pedal probably won't sound good on other patches, so calibrating an external pedal this way might be a good idea... ...or even better idea: use Crybaby... I do have the manual. I only saw how to link for turning it on or off with a footswitch assignment but not how to assign the expression pedal. Thanks for helping out. I know how difficult things are when you don't have something in front of you trying to help out :-) krazydog@... wrote:I find that also so what is when calibrating, don't go the "extreme" distance either way. Leave a tiny bit on each end "uncalibrated". This takes care of the issue, when you go either way afterwards it reads the full values. Do you have the manual for the 2101?? I just re-read your post & see that you're having a hard time "assigning" the Wah to the ped. I'll have to dig out my manual & let you know how to accomplish this. If I had my 2101 in front of me I could go through it but it's packed away at the moment. Cheers Sean

Thanks Marko. I will try that. do you know how to config the 2101 to have the expression work when you add the traditional wah to the algorithm. That is where I am running into difficulties is with getting the wah to work on the control one expression pedal.
Thanks,
Jeff

Have you linked wah correctly? When you add a module to an existing algorithm, the links before and after this module are broken, so you must restore those links in order to make any use of this added module. Autolink is not the best way to restore those links. You can download the manual directly from Digitech's site: http://www.digitech.com/ftp_mirror/PDFs/Discontinued%20Products/Manuals/GSP2101manual.pdf Best regards, Marko __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The problem you describe is common in the C1/GSP-2101 combo. The optical sensor on the C1 is susceptible to a slight variance. The recommended calibration method is not to put the pedal at it's extreme ends when you are doing the calibration. Stop just a little short of the full travel of the pedal (e.g. when you push it forward, push it all the way forward and back up like 1/8" or so) before you hit the button to "lock-in" that position. When calibrated this way, the 2101 will respond properly since the pedal "overtravels" past the calibration points so you get the true "0-127" range of sweep. I've yet to find any wah effect in any rackmount processor to replace my cry baby. -AT
