I recently switched development boards from the Olimex LPC2138 to the LPC2148. Now it seems that the standard Philips Flash Utility (ver. 2.2.0) that I was using for the LPC2138 does not include the LPC2148 in its supported devices list. What are you using to program the flash on the LPC2148? Is Lpc21isp the only free Win tool for flash programming on the LPC2148? Thanks, Paul

Start at "All LPC2000 Products" at http://www.standardics.philips.com/products/lpc2000/all/ , open a CPU, select Support Docs. I haven't yet found a way from http://www.philips.com to that "All LPC2000 Products" page. Karl Olsen

I´m using LPC2000 Flash Utility V2.2.3 and it works well. I´ve downloaded lpc21isp source code and compiled using DEV C++ and it is working very well for me, and is better integrated with my Programmer's Notepad 2 than Philips' program. I´ve not found any other free software that does this task, but I don´t believe you need anything else. Regards, Thiago Takehara Computer Engineer Engworks Industrial LTDA - R&D Division

Subject: [lpc2000] Philips Flash Utility for LPC2148?
I recently switched development boards from the Olimex LPC2138 to the
LPC2148. Now it seems that the standard Philips Flash Utility (ver.
2.2.0) that I was using for the LPC2138 does not include the LPC2148
in its supported devices list.
What are you using to program the flash on the LPC2148? Is Lpc21isp
the only free Win tool for flash programming on the LPC2148?
Thanks,
Paul

Guess Philips.com is better suited for consumer products and not well suited for microcontroller information. Bob

Try http://www.standardics.philips.com/support/documents/microcontrollers/zip/flash.isp.utility.lpc2000.zip I think I might put a link for it in the group link page. *Peter* lpc2100_fan wrote:

I could not find it under the LPC2148 product folder. Also noticed that it does not seem to connect to the Olimex LPC2148 board above the 38.4k baud rate. My other Olimex LPC2138 board works all the way through 115.2k baud. Regards, Paul

My other Olimex LPC2138 board > works all the way through 115.2k baud. I guess this is because the LPC2138 board has a 14.something MHz crystal that is an exact multiple of 115200 so it can generate the standard bitrates with 0% error. The LPC2148 probably has a 12.000 MHz crystal (required to generate the 48 MHz clock for USB), which is not an exact multiple of 115200 so the standard bitrates always have some error. The error is too big for bitrates above 38k4. Bertrik
