[lpc2000] - suitable LCD TFT display for PDA

[lpc2000] - suitable LCD TFT display for PDA

2005-07-28 by Gazelle

Dear forum, Hey gents,

                                    Currently I am designing a PDA based on a LPC21xx and I am looking for a small 2.8 - 3.2
inch portrait size color TFT (or CSTN) display with a 8/16-bit parallel interface.
For reasons of power budget, size constraints and cost I cannot place an FPGA or high-end Seiko
chip - but we are looking for the 8/16-bit driver integrated in the LCM.
Can someone give me a hint into the right direction ? [2.8 - 3.2 inch max. 3.4 inch]

Thank you very much !

cheers,

Michel

Have you looked at the Sony Color LCD Module ACX705AK. Its cheap on
Goldmine electronics
(http://email.email.secureserver.net/view.php?folder=INBOX&uid=66) and
still in production for end products. 9 bit color and 1/4 vga so
shouldn't be too bad to drive. I bought one a while back, but the
connector stopped me from doing anything with it (its VERY small and
hard to find for a hobbiest), designed to be used in PDA's bla bla
bla...

Hello, I can recomend you to use a Nokia color display, the same one
that the celullar phones uses.. I have a Nokia 3595's display but it's
small for a PDA, may be a more newer phone with a bigger screen (some
Nokia has 192x192 resolution) may help you. They are driven by SPI
interfase.
See you
Ezequiel

Hi Ezekiel, do you have a source for these displays?

Cheers

there's many online for Nokia 3310/5510.. but that's "only" a
monochrome LCD.
look here, at the end of page for an example on LPC2106 :
http://freewing-web.hp.infoseek.co.jp/arm_olimex/

I didnt search recently, but did a big search few months ago and
didn't find anything that could help me to use the Nokia color LCD
modules.. (couldn't find technical doc about LCD module or driver
inside, only find several webpages about 3310..)

hello,
I am Arne and I also trying to make my own PDA based. But I am just
a starter (I'm using a LPC 2106), I don't succeed to make it by my
self. If you succeed to make a PDA, could you tell me something more
about you've made it?
Thanks a lot!
Arne

Hello,

you could find some interesting stuf on:

2005-08-24 by sudip nag

Hi Everyone in the group,

Do anyone has worked on Nokia 6600 type LCD (176x208; 64K color). I need to know the controller inside and the connector pin configuration in order to start working with it.
