Re: Matrix-1000 Firmware 1.14

2014-11-17 by studio_1a@...

Hi, can you explain which bug fixes you did on this rev1.14 compared to gligli38's revision?

Thanks

Re: Matrix-1000 Firmware 1.14

2014-11-17 by sebo@...

The bugfixes are the same.
The diference between his firmware and mine is that his firmware is meant to be used with the upgraded CPU and clock modification, and mine is meant to be used in a standard Matrix-1000.

Re: Matrix-1000 Firmware 1.14

2014-11-18 by studio_1a@...

So you've tricked out the firmware to do the same thing as the new CPU mod. Is it as responsive as the hardware mod? Any advantages or disadvantages?? What about limitations?
thx

Re: Matrix-1000 Firmware 1.14

2014-11-18 by sebo@...

No, I just implemented the bugfixes, not the mods. For the mods you need the new CPU and clock.

Re: [oberheim] Re: Matrix-1000 Firmware 1.14

2014-11-18 by Narfman96 - Narfland Studio

I recently tested the V1.14 rev and was able to control the parameters using NRPN messages. I then put V1.13 back into my M-1000 and it ignored the messages. I haven't done a long term test or tested every value for every parameter but the fix works as advertised.
It was quite a brain workout using Midi-Ox mapping with my Novation Remote LE. I'm still not sure exactly how to setup the MSB, LSB, and data CC's. It probably would have been easier to write a script. Does anyone have do this kind of real time editing all the time and could possibly offer some pointers or an online resource?

Do we have a chart somewhere as to what NRPN parameters are controlled by particular messages? (I'm only recently back here)
You can find a good discussion of how this works at the following link. I've built some RPN parameters to control pitch bend range, but I haven't dealt with NRPN stuff, though the sequencing of the messages should be similar.

Or try to make a ctrlr panel for it?
Ctrlr - Control your MIDI life (MIDI editor for all your hardware)

Cross Platform Works on Windows (XP and up, both 64 and 32bit binaries are available), MAC OSX (10.5 and up), Linux (any modern distro should run it). Host in your DAW

I don't want to link-bomb this thread but if anybody's interested, I've made a controller panel for the cheap TB Midi Stuff app on the iPad.

It would be no problem to convert this panel to sending NRPN messages instead of SysEx, but to be honest I don't see much of a point - you may save a couple of MIDI bytes in transmission but internally, the same code handles NPRN and SysEx parameter changes.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
