Just curious, how many people here typically record automation in their songs or patterns? Or do more people just reocrd note data and add the CC moves later

I don t think you can do it directly from Grid Mode, but if you go to the Pattern Edit menu, you can use the Scale/Shift Start Times command to do teh same

Or if you do quantize, make sure you use the swing settings too! I like a quantize value of 57%, with an amount of 65. Then use the Scale/Shift Start times

I think careful balance of reverb levels can goa long way to make your drums sounds more realistic. I tend to prefer the Perfect Room or Tiled Room
