Hold Tap when you press record. You ll get replace record mode. It punches out at the end of the pattern. If you use it along with first note record (Cnt:d)

Yes that was 100% live, recorded back in August if I remember correctly. It s almost entirely XL-7, with a few samples from a Roland SP808ex thrown in too.

I ll add one more. If you re using the Track mute buttons as note controllers, you should be able to use the Edit+track mute combo to go to that channel
