Re: Lines on Prints

Re: Lines on Prints

I have a 1280 using the MIS UT2 CFS system, mostly
using EEM and Pauls curves. I was also getting those
pesky lines. Ran lots of nozzle cheaning cycles with
no significant improvement. Then, I happened to check
my printer settings and saw that I still had "High
Speed" checked. When I changed the settings to turn
off high speed the lines went away. Go figgur. Try
it and see what happens. Slows down the printing
process but saves a bunch on paper and angst.

Jerry: I have the same setup you do but the same problem as John. I
started with the old FSN-E inks a few years ago. My first 1280 never
did this. I've always used high speed at both 1440 and 2880 dpi but
did try unchecking it to see if it made any difference. It did not.

But my problem is obvious. It's one yellow nozzle that sometimes
starts firing while printing Black Only. It'll start at random and
fire continously for 2 to 20 passes across the page, then shut off. I
see no pattern to when it starts or stops. Only thing consistent is
that it's always one yellow nozzle. I do think a warranty replacement
printer from Epson will solve the problem.

Re: Lines on Prints/problem solved

I ran a few cleaning cycles and then hosed my printer down with canned
air, and also cleaned the parking pads a little. This didn't work but
good advise anyway (man was it dirty in there!).

Next i unchecked high speed, and problem solved. Her name is now
Gramma, but hey she gets the job done;)

Thanks Jerry
