The clock connector is Dinsync. The Sync ( on the midibox ) connector is actually 4 different outputs with a common ground, fed from the syncinput through 6840 timers to divide the incoming clock. Read the servicemanual for more info. WT ----- Original Message ----- From: "elanb"

Apologies for the rather ranty & long post in advance. So to answer your question, nope, Mr J Erbe @ Pro Rec had NOTHING to do with the production of the IIx disk, although my story sounds similar to yours, but with an extra twist... I produced a limited 500 copies of the IIx Lib

Thanks Rob, Peter's pdf appears to be of the blue library, because it is not the same as the pink library. As far as I can make out, neither library contains this "Old Strings" sound. So how did it come to be so widely used? It's almost as ubiquitous as Sararr/ Arr1. Incidentally

Bought something similar sounding (minus the reason patches) on ebay for like $9 USd which turned out to be a pirating of the samples by the Australian cat I've just forgotten his name but the guy whom did the original stuff for cult sampler and the other mix of vintage machines

Apart from Saxy and (possibly) the string sound in question, Jarre obviously made his own samples. He did not use many library sounds on that record, because there wasn't really a library yet. What else would one do with one of the very first Fairlights? :) So... does anyone know

There are TWO versions of the IIx factory library: Blue & Pink ( so named because of the color of the labels ). They're mostly the same, but there are some differences too. When I made the sample CD of the library it was mostly from the pink one. Sorry can't help you more. -----

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
