Hi Fredric, I think it's possible you've got 3 bad system disks. Although 8" floppies are fairly rugged, and seem to survive much longer than either 3.5" or 5.25", you could damage them in a CMI simply by switching the machine off or on with media in and the drive closed. Modern

Ok, done a bit of reading. The Sync Out and Clock Out works by recieveing a clock signal from the 3-pole DIN. Sync Out 4 should be connected to the CMI Mainframe Sync input XLR ( pin 2 ). Now the external clock will drive the CMI and the 68A40´s will divide the incoming clock and

A.f.a.i.k, the Syco Conductor evolved into the General Interface Card. That´s why I´m a bit surprised that I´m not getting any response on the Sync Out and Clock Out din-connectors on the IIx. I could be worng but I´m almost certain that I´ve read about the Syco on S.O:S website.

Glad that you got it to work. As for the SMPTE sync, that was never implemented at all. IIRC, it will trigger off SMPTE, but then it just free runs. I think that they were planning on implementing it in a later revision, but them they decided to build the Series III instead. -T O
