My 1400 does the same thing. It stops before the border. It's a known problem and I put mine in a box and have not used it since. I got a 3880 which has no such problems. Why not ask the Piezography people ?
You might give the Yahoo group on Epson printers a try - but in the mean time;
Shut the printer off, disconnect the USB cable from the printer, disconnect the power cable, go to bed. Reconnect everything after a few hours (actually a few minutes but a good night sleep is always useful) and see if that solves the issue.
If not, I would recommend uninstalling & re-installing the printer from the OS (the printer & Quad1400 both) and/or resetting the print system.
Give the Epson Printers Yahoo group a try. There are some absolute wizards over there.
File in question is 64MB, 16 bit.
Anyone?

Hi,
I'm printing with QT Print Tool 2.7.2 from a Mac laptop running OS 10.6.8. I reinstalled QTPT from original download. Before I burn another $2-3sheet of Hahnemuhle rag paper, any ideas on making this not happen?
Thx

There aren't any "known" problems with the 1400 that I know of.
Lots of people use it....

I have a similar issue with the R3000. I cannot print images that start closer than about 1" from the top of the paper, because it bands badly and gradually builds up ink density in the first ½" of the image. There is something goofy with the driver when it comes to that printer. I don't have this issue on my 7800. Unfortunately, it limits me to making my images small enough to fit on the page with a minimum of a 1 to 1-½ inch top border. Is this a Gutenprint issue or something? Banding at top and bottom of a page is a different issue. There are a couple reasons.
First the weaving must be different here because of gripping the paper. Epson's pattern is better than Gutenprint's.On small printers this is all done in the driver but on pro printers it's done in the printer itself.Second the number of inks can make a difference. Most of the Epson modes will be using more inks.This is what gives color casts for B&W prints. QTR's feature is to use mostly just gray inks somany set ups will be using fewer inks.

With Eboni-6 I usually print images that are only 9 inches long on a letter size paper. With the Noritsu dyes in the "2K-2LK" setup I print with only a 1/4 inch border, usually good results. The leading edge is better than the trailing edge, so for my cards, I print the image on the leading edge and the back is the trailing edge.Paul
