SIGH........

SIGH........

2008-04-21 by cuari7

It's sad to seee that the overwhelming majority of messages posted to
this forum are frustrated comments about delays in shipping of
purchased modules.
This is not a critique to the people posting, but to the company that
is failing to maintain proper customer satisfaction. It is certainly
not good PR for Cyndustries to have these exchanges on their forum, but
I wish something was done to improve the moral of the customers (myself
included).

The LPG Quagmire

2008-04-21 by evetsterueb

I ordered the Quad Low Pass Gates in Modcan A format last year.
PayPal charged my card on March 24th 2007

April
I am sorry to have kept you up the air
we are running a bit late on the Low Pass Gates
but should have them in spades in about two-months time.
Of course we will ship yours to you the very instant that it is ready.

July
~everything~ is taking much longer than I'd ever imagined
and for this I apologize, but we'll get there, We always do!
Thanks for your care and your patience,
I certainly appreciate it!

September
I know that many customers have
been waiting for Low Pass Gates and Synthacons as well as UEGs, and
I hope to have those all shipped before Thanksgiving.

November
Yes, as you know these have been on the back-burner for a while and
we are closing in on complete elimination of all back-orders at an
alarming rate.
I am happy to say that Low Pass Gates and all other back orders will
ship by
year's end probably including a couple of new products too!

December
Low Pass Gates are coming late
January, and a new fleet of Synthacon Filters will be following on the
heels
of the LPGs, in fact the circuit boards are due here any day now.

2008

January
We've been backed up on the Low Pass Gates for
ages and I'm very happy to report that the new LPG
circuit boards are quite lovely and we'll have a ton
of them along with new Mark II Synthacons shipping
this coming month.

February
we are stuffing the new boards and
preparing to finally ship out another
batch of our own banana format Quad
Low Pass Gates

March
We're presently assembling them and have a back log of about a dozen
so in the next few weeks they'll basically all ship out at roughly the
same
time. We didn't mean for them to take so long, it's just what
happened and
I thank you for being so patient.

April
I cannot say exactly when the Motm format LPGs will become
available, we're trying to locate a batch of missing circuit boards
from one particular vendor

I waited and was silent about this on the list until fairly recently.
I have contacted Cynthia periodically over the past year and received
vague reassurances. More than a year has passed so I think it's
reasonable to say that I was very patient. Airing this on the list is
unfortunate but what would you suggest I do?

On the one hand, I suggest you call Cynthia (# should be on the paypal record) and get things straightened out. I certainly don't want this to seem like I'm minimizing the experiences of people who have not gotten their orders.

But it's also true that it's the nature of things that people are more likely to post when they have an issue, than when they are simply happy with something. I would wager that the great majority of people have had good experiences with their orders. So, the only point that I'm being contentious with, a bit, is that a few posts by people whose orders have gotten screwed up are indicative of the majority.

But - again - good luck in resolving it. Obviously, you should either get your order in a reasonable time, or work out something to your satisfaction.

C'mon, I don't know who you use to trade with but in my opinion you have to get what you pay for. Even it's not very fair to say 'your order will ship in one or two weeks' to get payments and not to ship anything in months.
Just my opinion.

Re: SIGH........

2008-04-21 by dayjob111

i've been quite patient and tried to always be understanding of whatever adversity was
taking place w/regards to cynthia. she did go through a lot in the past 18 months or so
and i took all that into account + there was apparently a redesign of the modcan format
QLPG and i was all too happy to have the newer version.

it's been over two years though and after being as patient as i can and as understanding
as i can i just don't want to hear it anymore.

a month or so ago i was told that a couple modules i was after were "in stock" and that
that meant this:

_____"In Stock" means that we have finished units on the shelf wrapped
in static free
plastic bubble pack tested and ready to ship. It may take a day or two
for me to get
it into a box and ship to you, especially if it's an international
shipment needing all
of the extra customs paperwork, but yup, "in stock" basically means in
stock.____

so i ordered two modules i was interested in and instructed that it was OK for her to hold
the modules and ship them w/my QLPG (since i thought it was going to ship in a week or
so) UNLESS the QLPG was going to be a while longer in which case "please go ahead and
ship the modules i just ordered and then ship the QLPG separately when it's done" i think
that was march 2nd.

so now i feel even dumber for adding to my order and i'm generally bothered w/having to
nag nag nag cynthia once a month and ask where my modules are and what's the status of
my order.

so, yeah... at this point it's just absurd.

i should state that i've NEVER had this experience with Bruce at modcan. he says a date
when the modules will ship and he meets the date. he's upfront about whatever is in the
pipeline and if it's going to be a longer than normal wait he says so and there are no
misconceptions about delivery times.

over the past few weeks my subtle grumblings with cynthia have grown more public
because i feel like i'm getting nowhere and i'm pretty annoyed with new modules being
delivered in new formats while long time back ordered modules seem to become less and
less a priority. it's a total drag.

cheers-

steve w.

While we were trying to locate
 our missing boards and panels
I guess people think we should
have just sat on our hands doing
nothing?

Hell no,
we've been busy finishing a lot
of loose ends such as the Tablas,
Modcan Banana format ZOs, and
the Programmers.

This unscrupulous individual who
ran off with key parts for our
productrion runs of ZOs, LPGs,
and Saws put us several months
behind and left no note to us what
was happening so of course we
had no definitive answer for
anyone, (ourselves included).

The very moment that we recovered
our essential and very expensive
parts, (from his landlord) I made
a general announcement becuase at
last I finally had ~something~
definitive to announce.

 Having just recovered
everything, we are working like
mad to catch back up and seeing
the general attitude expressed
here, I will not be making any
statements about when they migh
ship - so as not to be crucified
if I'm not absolutely right about
the ship dates.

We have slowly built this small
run of Programmer modules quitely
in the background over the past
three-years and now, while we
were trying to make heads or tails
of what was happening with our
missing stuff... we kept busy
working. So please do not be mad
about the fact that we've released
them, instead be glad that we're
still moving forward all the
time.

Now, if you want one of these
Programmers, order one now because
we will be making very few of them
and they will sell out quickly.
We have already shipped several.
Frankly we are selling them to help
cash flow in order to throw more
money at the Sawtooth Animator and
Low Pass Gate Solution.

I do the best that I can and
work seven days a week on this.

I apologize to everyone for this
it was wayyy beyond my control and
I am juggling a lot getting back on
track. These have been exceedingly
difficult times for us lately but we
have a good attitude and simply work
harder. I am not offering any excuses
only facts.

Now, you know that we have just
got our stuff back, please give us
the opportunity to make good on our
promise.

cynthia- i don't think anyone here thinks that you (or cyndustries) are ever sitting on your
hands and i know there are happy customers (i've been one) and i know we are all familiar
w/the saying "you can't please all the people all the time..." however, i think some people
here feel they have been strung along. i know that's a crappy thing to say but i fear it's the
truth.

I don't want to get into a he said/she said type thing as that is below us all. we all know
you are doing your best and juggling lot's of things and are probably faced with difficult
business decisions where no choice seems like a good one.

RE: [The_Cyndustries_List] Re: SIGH........

2008-04-21 by John Hammaren

I too share exactly the same feelings as voiced by many. The current rub
I have is the announcement of but one more product. C'mon. The reason
Roger Arrick of Synthesizers.com has what I imagine is satisfaction in
the high 90's or possibly even 100% is that he delivers what he
promises. His stuff is not as exotic as Cynthia's. When he announced his
last major product, the Moog 960 sequencer clone, he carefully set
expectations and delivered when he said he would. Did it take time? Yes,
but we were never mislead. In my limited communications with Cynthia, I
can tell she is a unique talent in this field. But even Bob Moog
realized he was no businessman and hired a pro (Mike Adams) to run his
company. The result after his death is a viable company that should live
on.

Even so, I do not understand the current situation. I was one of the
early Dotcom Zeroscillator customers and this did take quite a bit of
time. But at least she responded to my inquiries. And Cynthia, if you
are listening; don't bother with another scolding. I am too old and way
too smart for that. Stop with the product design and start producing our
gear, please.
