greetings colin, I submitted my email address for the waiting list a back in late October and never received any confirmation of being put on the list. can you check to see that I am on there and where I am in the overall list/time to ship? thanks! ps. the email address is the one on my group account.

Even just a rough idea of how many people are on the list and how many units are shipping and when would be really fantastic. The Cirklon just looks so great that we are all dying to get our hands on one. I'd love to know if we have weeks to wait, several months or if we are looking even longer. --- In analogue-sequencer@yahoogroups.com, "t_natalini" <t_natalini@...> wrote:

I'd recommend the web site being updated with timescales. The 'shipping September', though still not anywhere near the Z sequencer situation, will start to look a bit strange. Having said that, perhaps it means September 2011. ;)

Personally, I just want to know if I'm actually on the wait list as there is apparently no means of feedback on Sequentix's end when you email the request to be put on the list. Secondly, I'd like to know If I will get a unit from the first production run as there has been mention of parts shortage. I'm willing to pre-pay if the helps, Colin. --- In analogue-sequencer@yahoogroups.com, "Ditton33" <ditton33@...> wrote:

Apologies for the continuing delay. I have updated the web page now. The first batch of production enclosures was 50 units, and those arrived in late September. To coincide with their arrival, I ordered all required stock of other parts to assemble the full run. The plan was to assemble the first 10 units by hand to document the assembly process, then have the rest of the run factory assembled. The supplier of the encoder knobs (of which 950 were needed) only came up with 100 or so, and a lead-time for the remainder of 'early December'. Another small quantity of knobs has arrived since, but the lead time for the rest has now slipped to later this month, with more to follow next month. I have been in contact with the Taiwanese maker of the knobs directly, and had samples of an almost-identical part available from stock, but the were just slightly to loose to stay on the encoder shafts. They offered to do a run of the correct part for me on a 6-week lead time (and an extra tooling fee), but at that point, it looked like Farnell were going to have them sooner. So the present situation is that I have enough knobs to assemble a further 6 units, which can ship this month. I'll be in contact with those at the top of the waiting list as they become ready. As soon as the knob supply problem is resolved, the ETA for the rest of the first run should become clear. I'm not keen on taking pre-payment or deposits, but it could speed up the delivery timescale if I did. I want to get a bit more video uploaded first, so that people can be clear just what they're getting. Best regards, Colin Fraser Sequentix Music Systems Ltd http://www.sequentix.com

Hi there Colin & Sequentix fans & a belated Happy New Year to you all.
In light of some recent posts re. due date for the Cirklons, can you tell me what the timescale is on making payment once a unit is ready & my place on the waiting is reached?
As usual Jan/Feb are going to be tight months & so will now need to sell some more other kit to fund my Cirklon purchase, having spent previously raised funds up to & over Xmas...
I'm keen to not miss out on a Cirklon though of course, so would be good to know of the deadline for payment once notified of a ready unit.
Cheers,
Kev.

Hi Tom, > At first all was OK, but than it went all crazy. > I turned it off, rebooted, only to receive a CHK FAIL = 2681 (BOOT - > FLASH) message. > > So what does this mean? It means the boot-time checksum calculated from the main program is incorrect - one or more bytes in the flash ROM must have become corrupt. So long as the bootloader code is unaffected, re-loading the OS by sysex should fix it. If the bootloader is affected (not very likely), I can usually erase the whole chip and re-flash it. That would mean brief holiday for your CPU in Scotland. Best regards, Colin Fraser Sequentix Music Systems Ltd http://www.sequentix.com

Hello All, Just got back from China. So after more than 3 weeks I powered on my P3. At first all was OK, but than it went all crazy. I turned it off, rebooted, only to receive a CHK FAIL = 2681 (BOOT - FLASH) message. So what does this mean? Cheers, Tom

Yes, this seems to have done the trick. It's been happily running for a couple of hours. What could have caused this flash rom corruption? (is there a .mid for v4.5 somewhere? Or what tool is there for linux to send a sysex file? I've used kmidimon to upload the 4.0 mid version.) > Yes, this seems to have done the trick. It's been happily > running for a couple of hours. > What could have caused this flash rom corruption? It seems to happen very occasionally - not often enough to come to any conclusions about possible causes. The rate it happens at doesn't seem to have increased even though the CPUs are all 5 years old at least. One of these days, I'll investigate other CPU types as spares for P3. The original CPU seems impossible to find in DIP, but it is available is SMD. There are other makers parts that might do the job too. It would be nice to have a bit of backup - I only have a handful of used spare CPUs. > (is there a .mid for v4.5 somewhere? Or what tool is there > for linux to send a sysex file?
