VCO questions

2007-12-05 by Jeff Laity

I'm looking at a pair of the CGS48 VCOs as my first project. I want to build it in Eurorack format (12V with an adapter power cable) using the 12V mods listed on the project page. I've done quite a bit of DIY, so I'm semi-confident I can handle this one. I have a few questions ab

hello all, for the life of me, i can not get any response whatsoever from anything on the cgs65 that is related to control voltage. this includes the 2 pots that connect there and the cv input. i get audio through the audio input and out that is affected by the control pot there.

When I think "matrix mixer' I think (aside from the old 2500 slider style) of the EMS/Vostok style pin-patch.. is that an option with this board? If so, parts and sourcing suggestions? Thanks, ~!J! http://www.endif.org http://www.myspace.com/endif

It's always a good idea to check the resistance between the power pins and ground before plugging in power for the first time. Most modules will show 10K to 100K between +V and ground and between -V and ground. You will see the resistance increase gradually, as capacitors charge

Good. That saves me telling you that there have been no circuit changes on the board :) The later variant merely has lightly better spacing of parts to ease the fitting of the S&H caps. Ken >Nevermind, I found a second solder bridge. The board powers up without whacking things. S

Hey, I picked up a bunch of modules from a fellow (some commercial, some diy) one of which is the CGS ASR (cgs34). It is not working. It basically pulls the power rails down (have not checked which yet) as soon as it is turned on. Here is where it gets funny. All the IC are socke

That is a very interesting idea! This raises a number of questions. One is how you will wire in the normalized signals. The dot com approach uses small connectors. I'd recommend that here, too, so that you can easily disconnect it all, and you can change what's normalized. Having
