Also if you are an usa basedcompany, best problem is /$ change problem, for this reason usa suppliers don't buy a lot of pieces out of customer order stocks. > Does anyone know what is going on? > > These are the chips I can't find > > LPC2144 > LPC2148 > LPC2134...we MUST have 1000 chips ASAP > LPC2138 > > So should we even design using phillips chips?? > > Gus > > > > > > > > > Yahoo! Unless we hear of advanced delivery dates we will be dumping two projects using LPC parts 2138 and 2148. There are lots of alternate chippies around. This forum is no longer usefull if they cant supply chips. Anything to say Philips Apps ? DonW ----- Original Message -----

I will e-mail my old classmate who works at Philips maybe he can help out :)

Hello Don, Maybe Weyert can help, it is very kind that he offered assistance on the matter. I wish Philips app EEs would chime in here. They should. But if you really get stuck and neither the distributor nor the Philips folks can offer a reasonable explanation or delivery dates there is yet another option that I exercised with a ceramics manufacturer a couple of weeks ago. I wrote to their CEO. Boy, did that get their attention. The result was stunning: A truck pulled up last Friday. Regards, Joerg http://www.analogconsultants.com/

Hi Gus. Are you buying your LPC parts directly from Philips or through a distributor? What did your Philips representative tell you? I know Arrow and Future (other distributors probably do too) have bond programs where I can give them a forecast of when and how many parts I need and they will buy and store them for me at an agreed upon price. I haven't had a problem with parts except when I DIDN'T provide a forecast and needed to ship a lot quick. Ron

We have them ordered through Arrow. It is too late to do what you are talking about. The problem is in philips and what scares me is that I tried to cal but they kept forwarding my call to a different phone numbers till I got to voice mail that never returned my cal!!!! Can philips app just give us an estimate of what is going on. Does philips understand how serious this is??????????????? Hi Gus, I am currently asking around at NatLAB and Philips Semiconductors here in Eindhoven to get some information about the subject. Keep in mind I got promise much, though. I will let you know later today... Yours, Weyert de Boer

I apologize for the delay in responding to this thread. In Q1, Philips was overwhelmed by a dramatic increase in demand as many new designs went to production simultaneously. Even though we were able to increase our chip production significantly, we still were unable to keep up with the huge surge in demand. We have increased production even further and are in the process of getting ahead of the demand. By June, we should be completely caught up and leadtimes should return to the 4-6 week range. You should continue to expedite orders with your local distributors. We are continually pulling in LPC2000 orders, so your local contacts may be able to get you parts sooner than the original confirmation date. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the delays. It is a testament to the success and acceptance of the LPC2000 family in the marketplace that we have seen such an increase in demand. This forum is undoubtedly an important factor in that success. We believe that we have enough die and assembly production capacity being put into place to keep leadtimes short and to keep our distributors' shelves stocked with the most popular parts in the future. Thanks, Philips_marketing_usa. Our purchasing guy just told me we received a partial shipment (80%) of our LPC2138 order on time. It's not as bad as I thought. Keep pumping out more LPC2138. We have another project in August I want to use either the LPC2136 or LPC2138.
