I also notice that the latest version of AVR Studio (V4.14 Build 589) Updated April '08 states that it has full support for 32-bit and 64 bit versions of Vista.

Don't you have an old copy of XP lying around? Even if you don't it only costs $140 or so for XP Pro, a nickel in the bucket of what you have invested. The web is full of reports of people "downgrading" (upgrading in my book) from Vista to XP. You'll be doing yourself a big favor

Atmel cannot or will not help. No one else in the frigging WORLD seems to be using AVRStudio under Vista. I have a Tek 2465 350 Mhz 4 channel Oscope I'll sell for $450 + shipping. I have several nice handheld DMMS I'll seel the lot of three for $100 + shipping. I have 290 drawers
