Hello The A110 and A111 VCOs do have Hard-Sync. But for FM you will prefer the soft sync (it locks on overtones). The A111 does provides it direct (socket 'S-Sync'), the A110 has it prepare internall, but there is no socket on the outside. I added a switch to one o my A110s, so I

2013-06-23 by niroke

James, That would be a similar patch, and I too have the 135/144 combo in my system. What I like about the 155 in this patch is the ease at which you can set up different running modes and pattern lengths, and have voltage control over it all. Plus you can use the trigger rows of

Re: Using the A-155 sequencer to switch between audio sources

2013-06-23 by niroke

Anoop, Correct, the sequencer only decides which audio signal (one of the 8 beatloops) is heard over the course of one particular step. This is done by running the audio signals THROUGH the sequencer. The A-155 is synced to Ableton by way of my Elektron Machinedrum, on which I cr

Hard synchronising VCO's

2013-06-23 by anoop.sahal

I have not seen this feature in the VCO's of Doepfer but old analogue synths had it. It would help improve FM synthesis. Hard synchronising VCO's would be a desirable feature if the phase at which each VCO is at is continuously adjustable (1 to 179 degrees) , before locking it. I

Hi Nick, Wild sounding! If I understand the explanation correctly , the sqncr steps through the Ambleton sync'd beat loops but the sqncr does not know when a beat loop starts or stops, it switches into the loop at any point in the loop and effects make this the actual sound more

Using the A-155 sequencer to switch between audio sources

Hello, I have 2 filters A-107, but the two do not sound the same way, one of my A-107 seems to saturate at the VCA So my question is; There are trimmers on the back of the filter, it is possible to adjust the level of the VCA and can adjust the frequency and Q, and if so with wha

Each of these models has features the other does not, so it's difficult to compare. My personal solution to this dilemma was to get both (and a second MAQ). If you must choose only one sequencer, it really depends on how you will work with it (what features you require) and how i

Still planning my system! I am dithering between a MAQ and say 3(A-155 with A-154) and (2 x A-156, the dual quantiser) The latter looks better perhaps , but the former would sit nicely between my midi stuff and the A-100 units. I think the MAQ should inherit the genes of the A-10

Yeah, I'm afraid Florian's right. To broaden the discussion a bit, modular synthesisers aren't particularly well suited for FM synthesis and polyphony. FM synthesis is usually implemented digitally because making another oscillator consists of writing a few more lines of code and
