Hi! Got some spare fuses now, and I'm set for the next adventure, but I have another question: in my G6, there is no cable going to the +5V connector in the middle of the bus board. Does that mean that the 5V adapter doesn't have a source for its 5 volts, or is it supposed to be

Had this same problem. Added some new-to-me used modules of dubious quality and zap, down goes the rig. T'was the fuses, replaced both and added another PSU (tiptop uZeus with a beefy 6a regulated PSU) and now everything's happy. On Thu, Aug 15, 2013 at 9:28 PM, Kim Johnsson wrot

Hi guys! Yeah, I thought it sounded like a fuse problem, but I couldn't find it yesterday when I was panicking. But just now when I checked, the fuse of the G6 is blown. Have to leave for work now, but I trust the G3 problem is the same. That would sure be a relief. Stocking up o

If a ribbon was "off by one", -12V would short to ground. That would certainly be a problem. But it seems like if it happened in two rack cases, the problem is at the module end of the ribbon. Check that right away to rule it out. What module is it? Is it new? Have you used it be

Probably just the fuse. In my experience Doepfer cases seem to somehow get used to working at a particular power level. Change enough modules and "fzzzt". If there wasn't a cabling problem then my bet's on the fuse. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Hello! It looks like I've gone and fried my G6. Today I installed some new modules and a 5V adapter (yay!) and suddenly the G6 just didn't light up anymore. I couldn't find any fault in my cabling, but the fact is that the G6 is dead. No leds light up. I have a G3 as well, and I

Hello though Zoe explained the center of topic bravely. One hint to a very clearifying video I saw recently: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIQ9IXSUzuM It explains a lot of things very clear, what is needed and what not (especially, why you don'tneed a 100kHz sampler). Florian

You don't need a sample rate as high as 100kHz. OK, so A4 is 440Hz. You could sample that at 112,640Hz to get 256 samples per oscillator cycle, sure. But you could instead record an A1 (which plays at 55Hz) at 14,080Hz to achieve the exact same result. This is one reason why most

Hiya! OK, so when you sample something, you're basically storing a very blocky picture of it. The higher the sample rate, the smoother the picture, the lower the rate, the blockier the picture. As a separate thing entirely, bear in mind that any given waveform can be said to be m

Hi! If you're sampling something 12,000 times a second, and that thing is moving up and down 6,000 times a second, then you're going to get a sample of it being up, then a sample of it being down, and so on. You'll have to sample it playing at a much lower frequency than 6kHz. Ho

If you are reaching that height you might as well go rack mounted and get some good rack towers to put things in. It makes it a lot harder to steal too. My rig is 4 A-100P6 boxes stacked 2x2 and that is about as tall as I would want to do - go wider and get a rolling chair. -Jame
