Hi David, The floppies are the right ones, so that is okay........ It is possible that the Fairlight can't format them, because they were already formatted on another system. The worst that can happen is that the Fairlight hangs. Jus a reset will do. Please let us know how it wor

Hi, I wonder if anyone has experience with formatting used floppydisks? I recently found a bunch of used floppy disks that I was hoping to use for the IIx. Should I be carefull trying to format them on the IIx? The disk are ds/dd softsectored and seem to be in good shape. tehmftw

Here's a suggestion for you: Under the machine, where those desintegrated air filters are, there is a row of small fuses, including at least one for the keyboard. You may check those as well. You can take off the bottom cover by unscrewing all the screws on the white bottom plate
