QTR-Quadtone RIP

I've tried multiple times to download QTR onto each of three computers, two using Windows7 and one Windows XP. Everything seems to load except the QTR GUI, which of course is the main element. I'm trying to use it with an Epson 3880. Any ideas about what's wrong? I am trying to get it for the free trial period, since I already purchased a now useless copy for Windows Vista.

I'm afraid I can't help you much with the installation issue, though I remember reading somewhere about either instructions or a utility to completely remove QTR from the system so that you can do a clean install.

Keep in mind that Roy's QTR license allows for a single user to use it with unlimited printers (and presumably, on unlimited platforms), or for unlimited users to work with the software on a single printer.

Dear Ron,

Last week I upgraded from an old XP PC to a newer one running Win 7 64 bit.
I have installed QTR and it works perfectly with my 3880.  So, your problems
do not seem to be Win7 specific.  All I can suggest is that your remove QTR
completely and try again, perhaps with a fresh download.

QTR 2.7 seems to install fine on both Windows 7 and XP(both pro versions with up to date service packs) - If you are not seeing the icon on your desktop immediately after running the install you may need to open it for the first time from your programs folder - then just drag the icon to the desktop.  If you are on a networked windows system be sure that you have full admin permissions - otherwise parts of the program may not load.

I finally got QTR to load, once I found the 2.7.0 version rather than the 2.3.1 version referred to in the user guide that I have, which is Document version 1.1 dated 26 April 2005, and which came with the QTR 2.7.0 that I loaded.

It will not load my Epson 3880 info unless the Epson is turned on, which is fine. However, when I print the ink separation test page as stated in the manual, I only get a black and white test page - no color at all as shown in the manual. This is true whether I set the Ink Calibration slider to the far left or the far right (1 or 100). Each test strip is different, but only B&W. Any ideas on this new mystery? Also, the screen captures of the version 2.7.0 and the info in the manual is significantly different. Is there an up-to-date manual?
