Buchla 200e Review in Sound on Sound

2005-11-21 by imabadbadkat96

Part 1 of a two part review appears in the December issue of Sound on Sound. I haven't gotten my copy in the mail yet, but the review is available online for subscribers. There is also a 'History of Buchla and Associates' with lots of pretty pictures.

Thats what I thought. I'm moving towards getting a 256e for stage 2 of my 200e (I'm only 1/2 filling a cabinet to start with). Creating complex modulations from feeding the output of 1 of the 256e sections into another sounds like it could have lots. On 20 Nov 2005, at 17:56, Pet

Yep, that aliasing is...shall we say, rather prominent, isn't it? Still, I'm growing more and more fond of the 259e. It really does have a personality of its own. I don't think there's mistaking its sound for anything else. For me, two 259e's and two 261e's would be the ideal com

I wonder about user's impressions of the 259e's various transfer functions. Are the green tables subjectively more predictable and less intense? (I would imagine so, as they're all combinations of chebyshev polynomials, giving them limited band width) Also they are maximally effi

The combination of this two is great. I have the smaller 3-boat panel system, which are the same width as a Serge panel (sans rack ears) and the only thing I had to do to optimize compatibility was to add some voltage to my TKB's gates (they are 5V, and the 281e needs 12V). I do
