Usually the PEK will be the first unit in a chain, means the keyboard will send midi control and audio to a chained rack, the rack mixes it with its own audio

... I suppose that it was left out because it s not necessary ;) The mix input was made to chain 2 or more Poly racks or to chain Keyboard and Poly Evolvers.
