So the Quad ADSR module can generate audio range signal as a pseudo LFO with the end of decay out patched to the ADSR's own gate input. What are the drawbacks to using it as an audio/LFO source? I know that the signal is always above 0 volts because it's an ADSR, right?... do I n

Thanks for the reply. I agree with the sentiment about making artificial sounds, and this is what I'm aiming for. After all, why else spend time building up an extensive sample library of real instruments. However, I've noticed a lot of my analogue sounds turning out a bit the sa

I'd link this stuff, but it's easier if you google "violin formants" and there's a good bit of stuff there. No database out there that I know of (I know because I searched for this type of stuff in the past) but you can find info on individual instruments for a start... violins a

General information is fine. I'm just after a start point from which to experiment. I got the idea from the Sound on Sound, Synth Secrets series, Formant Sysnthesis http:// www.soundonsound.com/sos/mar01/articles/synthsec.asp. Given that there is something about the grouping of v

Whatever you might find would likely only be general information, because formants are the characteristic resonances of individual instruments or systems.. in other words, from violin to violin the formants would be different, just as from one person's voice to another person's v

Last night I was sending some recorded violin tracks from my recorder, through my little mackie mixer and to the a101-2. Are there any dangerous voltage issues of which I should be aware? It was my understanding that these audio levels should be pretty low, but then I remembered

Hi, Does anyone have a list of the formants present in acoustic instruments and other non- musical sounds? I am looking to expand my sound design knowledge and having a ready guide would be very useful. Yours Aye Stuadh

hi folks, i'm selling off a doepfer a121 multimode filter module. this is a sweet sounding bandpass, hipass and lowpass resonant filter. the bandpass is nice and aggressive sounding. the lowpass filter sound is altered by the extent to which you overdrive the input. i've found it

What I would really really love is if such a thing (pitch to CV) could respond to stringed instrument artificial harmonics - monophonically played of course. As an example, if you take your average guitar and play the harmonics of the open string you are isolating the higher harm

Dieter, If the A-155's are configured for standalone operation, they work correctly. Also, if I put the A-154 in manual mode and clock the first A-155 with an LFO, there is no problem. But if I use an LFO as an Ext. Clock source for the A-154, the problem appears, just like using

David, before we continue: does this problem occur only with the combination of A-155 with A-154 ? Or does it occur even with a standalone A-155. If the A-155's have been modified earlier (for standalone mode) this modification has to be cancelled (i.e. undo). Please refer to pag
