It is a mechanical situation, not firmware. There are only eight channels in the actual print head and you select which black is fed to the black channel.

You shouldn t have to go to all that trouble. Make sure you install 2.7.2 if you upgrade an OS -- upgrading doesn t save everything for QTR. The Mavericks
