MAQ 16/3 sync problem

2014-06-05 by JenkinsC01@aol.com

I have two MAQ 16/3s. One will sync fine to a MIDI clock from Cubase SE3. The other refuses to do so - it will start, but won't keep steady time. I've tried switching cables. mergers and so on, but it does seem to be a problem with the MAQ itself. Its firmware is V3.50, while the

Hi! To state the problem first: It doesn't work properly. I am on a Windows 8.1 machine running Ableton Live 9 (64 bit) and am trying to sync my modular which has a couple of sequencers to e.g. a drum beat in Live. The A-190-8 is connected via USB (via a USB hub) to the computer.

As far as I know, yes, that's right. With regular MIDI, it's just sending the data across, no power, and it's very simple, so anyone with a bit of engineering knowledge can make a MIDI client or server. This means there's a wealth of both, with a lot of devices doing both at once

Hi! If I remember correctly (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while), the A-190-3 is used to plug your A-100 into a computer, so the A-100's the slave/client/peripheral, and the computer's the master/server/thing in charge. So you can't hook the A-190-3 to

At the end if the day there are two ways you can transmit info to another synth. If you send the individual notes they will be in the same time as the originating source but if you send clock info the receiver will try to sync to that. So, if you want shuffled notes as they are g

Re: Dark Time swing output

I think Florian's point was the Dark Time is sending individual NOTES to the Dark Energy and MS20, they are reacting to the notes sent, not the clock. It sends a NON-shuffled clock to the MFB. If you shuffle the clock (let's say on 1/2 notes) how does the receiver interpret this?

I've just had the time to do a few wee tests. Turns out the shuffle mode on the dark time sends the midi just find to Dark Energy and my Korg MS-20, and both of these things play the shuffle just fine too. However swing has absolutely no effect on the MFB-522. So it must interpol

I can see how having perhaps 2 or 3 of these samplers filtered and mixed together, cross-fading and panning with slow random, slewed modulation of the wavetable positions, cutoff frequencies and spatial position would create a fantastic atmospheric canvas. I love the way low-pass
