I m surprised that he felt that metamerism was such a big issue with ABW. What paper is he printing on? I ve had another look at the prints and I guess the

thanks Brian.. this artist basically just got set up on a p800 and learned ABW for the first time. He is an extremely accomplished and successful darkroom fine

Tyler, you haven t got any response to this question. I have a new OEM 3880, and I have dabbled with this sort of comparison only a little, since most B&W is

This has probably been asked and answered, because the term is used frequently and everyone seems to know what it means, but I cannot find a definition

Hi I printed a picture using QTR Rip; after the print, I found that it was lacking some contrast and the tree should be lighter (_DSC1666); without changing a

This is a known problem with some Epson printers such as the 2400, 2800, 2880 and R3000. The solution to this is to tape your sheet to a larger sheet of

Well I stand happily corrected. When I was trying to set up the 9900 with QTR several years ago it wouldn t work at all over Ethernet, no matter what I tried,
2015-09-12 by martin.felix@...
You can use QTR for B/W and the regular Epson driver color printing. They can coexist in the MAC with no issues.
2015-09-12 by saltaylorkydd@...
One more question - does your printer need to be dedicated to QTR? Does QTR essentially take over the Epson driver? I m using QTR to print digital negatives

Thanks for all the feedback. I was using a static IP but I’ll try Bonjour. I think I tried Bonjour before and it only found the Epson printer, not the Quad.

Thank you for quick answer. This might be the case, but V500 uses LED source. Also, I tried on both kind of papers: OBA rich satin (Tetenal) and oba free

It s not a LAN; it is a discovery protocol. If it works for you, great. I prefer to have devices at constant IP addresses. Andrew

I disagree that DHCP and bonjour are the safest bet. When a device loses its lease and has to renegotiate an IP address, it is possible that it will be given a

Good to know, but I was asking the OP. DHCP and Bonjour seem like the safest bet.
2015-09-12 by Andrew Sharpe
No, I gave the printer a static IP, simply taking it out of the DHCP range. Andrew
2015-09-12 by jeff.grant@...
Assuming that you are on a Mac, did you use Bonjour to connect, and let the 3880 get an IP address via DHCP?
2015-09-12 by martin.felix@...
Yes it does. Both wired and wireless.
2015-09-12 by martin.felix@...
I have it working on a P800 wired. Wireless worked fine, just slower to send the image. Wired works well on a 3880 too.
2015-09-12 by Andrew Sharpe
And I m using a wireless 1430 with QTR on a Mac, as well.
2015-09-12 by jeff.grant@...
It does very happily on a Mac. I have a 3880 and an R2000 both on ethernet.
2015-09-12 by richard@...
Ethernet doesn t work with QTR, and you need to connect via USB only. I m not exactly sure of reason that it is USB only, but that is the way it is. Richard

Astute readers will have realised that when I said So for A4 what I do precisely is I use a 140mm long lead sheet (297mm wide) I actually meant 210mm wide.
