I actually purchased a sequencing program long ago because it was cheap, but I never used it. It s called MusicStudio Generation 6 by MAGIX. Is this any good?

On the roland you may have to apply a slicing procedure to a sample, but I am pretty sure that it is not a manual job. It is more along the lines of acid, i.e.
