The internal oscillator is fed via the switching contact of the Ext.CLK socket. If the switching contact of this socket is worn out is does no longer make contact. Maybe this is the reason. Try an external oscillator connected to the Ext.CLK socket to find this out. Best wishes D

I have removed the springs from mine with out breaking anything. The joy stick stays still enough for my use. Physically it appears to stay still, but the voltage out put shifts a little. A very useful module. My only suggestion would be some built in mults, there is panel space
