As long as it´s a plug and play solution, there should be no problem for any CMI IIx user to upgrade to this. I would suggest even going so far as to include a preformatted card including the OS-disk and the complete soundlibrary. WT ----- Original Message ----- From: "tama_rat"

Yes, and I agree -- this would eliminate the problems many have getting a PC set up with an 8" drive and ImageDisk. --- In Fairlight-CMI@yahoogroups.com, "dd_62622" wrote: > > would it be possible to copy our 8" disks direct to the cf card using the drive select signal switches ?

would it be possible to copy our 8" disks direct to the cf card using the drive select signal switches ? would be a great way to preserve our libraries if one could make the transfer to img on the cmi itself. cheers, DD --- In Fairlight-CMI@yahoogroups.com, "tama_rat" wrote: > >

Right. You don't need 2 HxC emulators -- each one can look like 2 drives. I want to have a couple of switches to choose whether each drive select signal goes to the HxC or the old 8" drive. In my setup now I have both 8" drives disconnected and the HxC is emulating both the left

See Kirks answer below That´s how I´ve believed it works. To switch "floppy" you have to use the HCX menus. WT ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter K." To: Sent: Saturday, September 22, 2012 9:36 PM Subject: Re: [Fairlight-CMI] Re: HxC and CMI IIx Floppydrive replacement The

The actual time to load off the HxC SD card should be the same time as loading off a floppy. At least that's how it is on my Emulator II with the HxC. Wouldn't people want to have two HxC on a Fairlight - one with the OS disk on it, and then the second with the sound library on i

Actually, that would be a very cool solution. Dual card readers, dual switches, mounted on a card that fits into a slot. The only problem I can see is the amount of cabling that needs to be fitted. WT 17 sep 2012 kl. 09:56 skrev "dd_62622" : > any chance we could develop a hidden
