I ve seen Emax take an hour or more to format and verify a drive. Zip drives work because the drive itself allows for a disk change. But SCSI 1 is not hot swap

It sounds like your PLUS OS copy is corrupt. Download it again and try to copy software. I wouldn t assume that all data is lost. Especially if you can take HD

The EM1 and EB1 file layout are only slightly different, so it should be possible for the HxC software to take EB1 files as input format as well (besides EM1).
