Your thought process is a good one, but most of the stock EXS sounds are pathetic. You will inevitably grow in your need to import sounds or build kits

For automation, please refer to my earlier posts using splitters in the environment (I had a similar problem). I now automate the EXS using splitters.

You may have MMC active in the sync window. You should only be sending MIDI beat clock and MTC (midi time control).

Dear Igor, i have had a different discovery. I used a perfect cutted 2 bar loop which played as audio track in the Arrage Window, in the EXS Same experience.
