Not the same as just converting to grayscale at all. After deleting the a&b channels in LAB, then convert to grayscale. The result has a much better contrast

The 3200 was only released in the US in March. They have basically replaced the 2450 with it. I expect it to be around for a year anyway. Haven t heard rumors
