Hahhaa. No, the point was that I was wondering if it was something that's needed, or if it was a design. Of course how something looks doesn't affect what comes out of it (other than in an inspirational way), but obviously how gear looks is important. Companies spend a lot of tim

The Continuum is a really cool controller. There is a smaller version of it, roughly a little less than 4 octaves, that's an excellent complement for synthesizerswith lots of modulation routings. I use it to play a Serge modular through a Kenton ProSolo, plus my Access Virus C. O

Part of my point was that the bus board setup adds unnessessarily to the cost. What about a power supply with wires & connectors? I can't imagine how it could be more than $150. That leaves rails, and any old rack case. The things that are not needed (in my opinion) are: -The bus

hello gustaf, can't tell you something about the springs in the a174 joystick, but in any case you can use the a174 as a substitute for the a176 manual cv source. even without removing the springs, you can adjust the a174 outputs to deliver a voltage between -3.5 and +3.5 volts b

well, yesterday i thought again about the panel widths and made up my mind. there are so many modules already available which have 10, 14, 22 or 26 hp, so it probably wouldn't make much sense to fix the panel width to multiples of 4 hp for future modules. it is also true that if

I just as fully disagree. An extra 2P on any two modules in a row and you just lost space for a clock divider, sample-and-hold, ring mod, inverter, or multiple. Couple that with the price of a G6 and you'll find yourself spending hundreds of extra dollars/euros for the privilege

hello julian, your point is also valid. my opinion is that if a module has 14 hp, it wouldn't be so bad if it had 16 hp. the 2 hp more size wouldn't hurt too much and the module would still be a lot smaller than the 5u units. anyway, i have a bunch of 2 hp blank panels, so i don'

I would strongly dislike module size being standardised. For me, the beauty of the doepfer system is its size. If i was wanted the interface bigger i would have gone for one of the 5u systems. Anything that makes the synth take up more space is, in my eyes, a very bad idea. I kno
