You may try VSTack, its kinda cubase without sequenzer, i tried it out and found it very usefull to use VSTi synth, sequenced by XX7 /T ...

Flash ROMs can only be burnt in E-MU Ultra samplers (strangely enough!) They are expensive because they have to be able to be read as fast as normal memory
