Hmmmm... I recall MeatballFulton saying that the DEVO has scratched his modular itch. Is this still the case?
2009-12-24 by motorzot
Did you check to see if the plastic button was pushed onto the post or seated funny? If so, pull it off and reposition it. That helped me on one occasion.

i m also thinking of getting that set up, get a second hand devo and use that more for seqeunces, are just use that if bringin the mek tot a gig is not easy

Some people call it an upgrade because they like using pots better than encoders (not me!).

I would imagine people call it an upgrade because the pots work better as compared to the crappy encoders used on the PEK..... people normally call that type
2009-12-19 by steven pistrich
i dont mind the encoders ---if they work consistantly--- i like that they respond to how fast you turn them---this is handy with 1-128 range parameters---
2009-12-19 by X + Z = 0
i think with pots, they can have a performance mode vs editmode (one is faster one slower) (isn t this the case with pot upgrades for the po 08 and

there is talk here that the problem is not encoders VS. pots , but cheap shortlived encoders versus better quality encoders... encoders get jumpy
2009-12-19 by X + Z = 0
it are encoders (not pots), and when the go jumpy or not reacting it isn t very much logical (it isn t the same in every patch etc) kind like a virus it

Just about any potentiometer will get crackly (for audio) or jumpy (for data) if it s left unused for long periods of time. If you really want to keep dust

My unused MEK has been sitting in my home covered with cloth for over a month. Last night I turned it on and noticed that many of the encoders are not working

The PEK allows you to set key mode per patch (not combo). This means one patch can be Mono, one patch can be Mono/Unison, one patch can be Poly, etc. So

Only the Mono Evolver Keyboard has an arpeggiator function (sadly). This is likely because of the way mono keyboard synths are engineered to scan their
2009-12-11 by wasteking1
as far as i can tell ---you fake an arpeggiator by programming the SEQUENCER to run a pattern triggered by the note you play... its kinda inconvienient

Hi All - Im a bit confused.. Does the PEK have a hidden arpeggiator? I keep reading snippits about one but can not find instructions, either in the manuel or

Can you play the keyboard AND the sequencer at the same time? Depends on what you mean: You can set up the MEK to use the keyboard to start/stop sequencer

I asked that recently. Apparently, there is a PE upgrade kit coming for the MEK, but it won t be available until next summer.

I also think that $110 for knobs is a ripoff---look in any electronics catalog ... small plastic pot-knobs are generally under $1 each some cast aluminum ones
