Actually, I thought the bad take-out analogy worked quite well! ;) WRT the sequencer... Yes, as with anything, time with the new toy will help immensely.

What do you mean by resize the midi clip ?? Do you mean you grab the edge and stretch it out or push it in, it is supposed to push or pull the midi data
