yes the original 1 has some sort of shrink rap on it when heated by a hot air source they shrink around the component but since laminted hot shrink machines

earth is ov you need the earth so that the pot can reference the rististance to earth you can take this from the earth point on the lcd basically you get a pot

if you fit a new lcd then you will have todo the mod as the lcd wont work with out it but if your lcd is working fine then just get an efiol and solder it in

same lcd for emax1/2 the efoil from rs is a bigger sheet you will have to cut it to the right size and then laminate it to the correct external dimentions as
