No risk of any sort. These are PREAMP tubes and NOT power tubes. As a matter of fact I highly recommend trying several different types until you find the tone

I ve tried a lot of different tubes in the 2101. The NOS RCA s I m using now sound much better that the GT s and Penta s that came with the two units I have.
