Ken, Is it intermittent or out completely? Did you try tapping around the pc board and jiggling the wires? Schematics should be in the file part of our forum.

That was CHEEEEEEEAP :O Lucky You!! As I remember, the VFX-series uses the Phillips 1541 converter. The SD s the 1542 (less noisy), a little more distortion

These guys have it all. Pro fader cleaner/conditioner (to eliminate the noisy pots & faders) and lube & grease (to get back that smooth feel after cleaning).
